She’s not a doctor – she only plays one on airplanes.
Denise Richards bucked the CDC on one last flight, choosing to use her “huge winter coat” as a mask instead of a mask — and for some reason, letting her fans know about the situation.
“Anyone upset about it [am] I don’t wear a mask that hides under an AMD hood [sic] A huge winter coat,” the 50-year-old wrote via an expired selfie on her Instagram story on Sunday.
“Please. Thicker than any mask!!!!!!” she added.
Although Richards has had no problem wearing a mask on a plane in the past, the selfie in question showed her full bare face.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum has posted several shots of herself wearing appropriate face masks at various venues over the course of the pandemic, so it’s not clear what prompted her to make such a bold (and scientifically incorrect) statement.
The current CDC guidelines, for Richards or anyone else, state that:
All passengers on public transportation (for example, aircraft, ships*, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis, and ride operators) who travel to, within, or outside the United States (including US territory) as well as transportation operators (for example, crew and drivers conductors and other workers involved in the operation of transportation), regardless of their vaccination status, must wear a mask over their nose and mouth.
Fans did not hesitate to drag Richards through the mud on social media to post.
“There seems to be no sign of intelligent life anywhere,” one person tweeted, using a .gif file from Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story”.
“We would have had no idea she was flying if she hadn’t said it. The hashtag to get attention,” Another pointed.
A day before traveling, Richards shared on Instagram that she wrapped up her “last photoshoot of the year” in Oklahoma City.
