Elena Roarke may have a great back story, but she’s never got anything on the guy drinking from her toilet.
fantasy island He briefly returned to Fox on Thursday with a two-part Christmas special, mostly focused on Elena’s Golden Retriever Mr. Jones. In his previous life as a human, Nathan was apparently big on the medical world, working alongside his wife and best friend to develop life-saving techniques. But when his faulty designs are blamed for several deaths in an experiment, Nathan escapes to Fantasy Island, where… you know… he’s transformed into a dog.
So imagine Nathan’s surprise when his wife appeared as one of the island’s holiday visitors. and imagine she has She was surprised to find out that her husband had turned into a dog. and imagine for us Surprise when Nathan returns to a completely naked human being after reconnecting with his wife. (Honestly, we were wondering how his transformation would happen. Fully dressed? No clothes at all? Just a shirt, like Winnie the Pooh? The possibilities were endless.)
Then some other plots came along: Nathan’s “best friend” Tony also came to the island – and now he’s dating Nathan’s wife! None of this sat right with Nathan, so the former dog did a little digging, eventually proving Tony to be responsible for their patients’ deaths in the first place. Tony planned to silence Nathan for good, but when he finally pulled the trigger on his rifle, only a flower appeared. Apparently it was Elena who did it pretty much to save Nathan’s life…and also because the white dress code of the island staff simply doesn’t work for cleaning blood.
“We will miss you so much,” Elena tells Nathan once the dust has settled. “But we’re so glad you found your forever home.” (Rourke has jokes!)
So wrong, but so “right” | The other great visitor on vacation on the island was a hotelier with commitment issues and yearning to escape to a cheesy Christmas movie. But she got more than she bargained for when Elena’s imagination intertwined with hers, causing Elena’s ex-husband James to appear as “Mr. Right” in the celebratory guest movie. To make matters worse, Elena messes with the island’s magic by taking James out of the woman’s imagination, and throwing the entire ecosystem into disarray. (the snow? this is climate?)
Despite thinking hard about leaving the island to be with James, Elena eventually realizes it’s where she belongs. This decision was further reinforced when I got a Christmas present for Javier – the refurbished rattan chair that Elena’s uncle (aka OG Mr. Roarke) sat on. But is this the first holiday gift for many from Javier to Elena? Given that John Gabriel Rodriguez was recently promoted to a series regular, we wouldn’t be surprised.
“I’ve had discussions with the makers of the show, and they tell me they have a lot in store for Javier next season,” Rodriquez told TVLine. “I look forward to seeing how they will flesh him out, the bond he will make with Elena and Robbie, and how that will come about. You will see a lot of Javier.”
Roslyn Sanchez agrees, although she never expected Elena to get love attention – especially so soon after the show started. “She was fast, but she was smart,” she says. “And I was pleasantly surprised to see that the audience liked them together.”
Girl, put your records on | As for Ruby, the island’s Number 2 has spent most of the special Christmas days deciding whether to get Dr. Gina, whom the island has chosen to be her secret Santa. And as the fat (or island) would get it, the until far away The exact thing Jenna needed – a new needle for her standard trigger – was inside the box Mel left her when he last visited her.
Between this gift and his blessing for pursuing a new relationship, Robbie and Dr. Gina share a long-awaited kiss under a festive fireworks sky.
Looking forward to season two, Barnes says she’s “excited to watch Robbie get more comfortable in this new version of herself that everyone welcomed in season one.”
