aAfter a jury convicted the former reality TV star Josh Duggar from Two counts of receiving child pornography and possessing child pornography, a member of the Duggar family.

“Today has been a difficult day for our family,” Jill and Derek wrote in a statement posted on their website.
“Our thoughts are with the victims of child abuse or any kind of exploitation. We are grateful for the hard work of law enforcement, including investigators, criminal analysts, prosecutors and all other participants who rescue children and hold those responsible to account.
They wrote, “No one is above the law. It applies to all equally, regardless of your wealth, status, association, gender, race, or any other factor. Today, the people of Western Arkansas have made it clear in their judgment.”
“Furthermore,” Jill and Derek said:[h]He who justifies the wicked, and he who judges the righteous, both are an abomination to the Lord” (Proverbs 17:15).
“We have been lied to so much that we wanted our evidence heard in court,” they said. “After seeing all the evidence as presented, we believe that today the jury has reached a fair verdict consistent with the truth beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Additionally, they mentioned how many people were affected by Josh’s crimes.
“Josh’s actions extended far beyond the epicenter of the crime itself. The children have scars, but his family is also suffering from the fallout from his actions,” they said.
“Our hearts are sensitive to the pain that Josh’s wife, Anna, and their seven children have already endured and will continue to work in the future. This trial felt like a funeral more than anything.”

“In the coming days, we will do everything we can to surround our daughter-in-law Anna and their children with love and support.
“As parents, we will never stop praying for and love Joshua, as we do with all of our children. In all circumstances of life, we place our trust in God. He is our source of strength and our refuge. Thank you for your prayer.
