Keanu Reeves took Drew Barrymore on a 16th-birthday motorcycle ride

Talk about sweet 16.

Drew Barrymore revealed that Keanu Reeves made a surprise appearance at her 16th birthday party to take her away for a late night motorbike ride.

The A-listers, who both appeared in 1986’s “Babes in Toyland,” reminded him of trying out Tuesday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

“Can I bring it back to a memory I have with you?” asked Barrymore Reeves.

“I was at this club, it was my 16th birthday, and I came – that’s the anniversary,” she continued, suggesting he chime in if he had “anything to add or change.”

“You walked in, grabbed my hand, took me outside, put me on your motorbike, and we drove at the warp speed of my life.”

Barrymore continued, “We went and she took me on the journey of my life. And I was so free, I was a free human being. And it was [this] A moment where I just remember loving life and being so happy. I hold it very dear because the older we get, the harder it is to come to that feeling.”

It seems Reeves had no recollection of the experience.

“In which club were we?” asked, and Barrymore replied, “I think it was on Third Street in Los Angeles, and then I think we certainly took off at three, and then we drove for a while, came back and came back. I don’t remember if I came or not.”

Then the “ET” star got up off the couch and skipped around the set of her talk show, imitating her 16-year-old self.

“I literally came back to the party skipping. I didn’t think of it as a sweet 16, but now I realize that you can’t get a better sweet 16 from being put on your motorbike and enjoying the moment you understand what freedom is,” she added.

The experience was certainly memorable for Barrymore, as she also told the story during a September 2020 interview with actors Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerback on her talk show.

“I made a movie with [Reeves] When I was 11 years old in Munich, Germany for six months.”

“Then he showed up at my 16th birthday party and took me on a motorbike that I will never forget. We just exploded into the streets. It was at night and the streets were empty, and it was one of those moments I will never forget.”
