We don’t know how long Spider-Man Tom Holland will be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but his tenure will at least extend after another movie. Spider-Man: There is no room for home. At the premiere of No Way Home Monday night, ComicBook.comBrandon Davis met Sony Pictures President Tom Rothman and asked about reports that Sony and Marvel Studios have come to terms with another Spidey trilogy. While those plans have yet to be confirmed, Rothman said the current deal between the companies calls for the Holland character to appear in a movie other than the Spidey MCU.
“It’s mutual. So we lend one, and they lend one, and that’s the Benedict’s way [Cumberbatch] Rothman explained in this movie. “So we have another one ‘returned’ committed. But the thing I can say, and that’s actually the exact scoop on this, is that the two companies have a great working relationship. I think it’s a mutual hope that that continues. But there really isn’t any Final at this moment, because the truth of the matter is that we have to ride [Spider-Man: No Way Home] And see what happens.”
At the beginning of the month, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal stated in an interview that Marvel and Sony were already working together on a third trilogy with Holland in the main role. Insider reports then indicated that no official has been reached regarding this new trilogy, but Sony and Marvel have remained close to their working relationship and hope to continue this in the future.
Rothman’s comments Monday night corroborate those reports. He specifically stated that no decision has been made on any official so far, mainly because the two companies were focusing their efforts on the release. There is no place for home. There may not be news of a new Spider-Man movie for long. What we do know, however, is that Holland will be returning to the MCU in another upcoming MCU title.
