Clancy Brown gives a great performance in Dexter: new blood Like Kurt Caldwell. But viewers may be surprised to learn that he was allegedly considered for a different role. Brown revealed in an interview that he was initially seen as playing Officer Harry Morgan, a role that eventually passed to James Remar.
He could have been Brown in the original series
Brown was first announced Dexter: new blood In January of 2020, nearly three months after Showtime announced the revival. He detailed his reasons for wanting to do the series in a new interview on Rich Eisen Show.
“I took it because it was an epidemic, and I haven’t worked out for about a year,” he said. “I remember her first iteration and when it was cast they were thinking about Remar’s part for a second. Glad I didn’t because Remar was good at it. I didn’t watch it though but once they got interested [in me for ‘Dexter: New Blood’] I started watching all of it, and I was kind of amazed at how amazing it was.”
Remar originally had a big role as Harry, a police officer who adopts Dexter after he finds him at his mother’s crime scene. He taught Dexter the cipher as a teenager to help him control his murderous impulses. But after he walked on him midway through the killing, he ended up getting killed. Harry then became the voice in Dexter’s head, appearing in all eight seasons until Dexter realized he no longer needed him.

Hall and several other cast members from the original show – but not Remar. Apparently, the writers wanted to try something new with Debra Morgan taking on director Jennifer Carpenter as Dexter.
“We wouldn’t do the same with James Remar. Show director Clyde Phillips explained that we have a fantastic opportunity to do that with Depp Top 5 TV Shows Audio notation.
“Harry was more than just a father figure, no pun intended, and Depp plays Doubt Dexter…and the way [Michael C. Hall] He wanted his relationship with Depp to be like, they’re an old couple who live to live – not old, I mean a long-lived couple – who have a great sense of comfort and aren’t afraid of argument.”
“So it’s different from Harry,” he added in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes. In fact, Depp is against killing Dexter. Deep is the questioner. She’s the one who makes you need to make sure that what you’re about to do is the right thing.”
