With teary, choked eyes, he told his studio audience on December 7 that Zane died after previously suffering from hydrocephalus – a condition in which fluid builds up in the cavities of the brain resulting in an increase in head size and eventually pressure on the brain.

Cannon said the tumor developed rapidly around Thanksgiving and that he spent an emotional weekend with Zayn and Alyssa in Orange County, California, where he held him on the beach.

He explained on the program that the problems with his baby – born in June – first started when he was about two months old as they noticed that his head looked big and they also thought he had a sinus problem.

We didn’t think of anything. But I wanted to take him to the doctor because of my sinus and breathing. We thought it would be routine.

‘I am sad. I feel guilty on so many levels. I never wanted to take advantage of this. I’ve kept it private for a long time since I found out Zayn’s diagnosis regarding his mother Alyssa and everyone in our family,” he shared on December 8.

Zen has been the fourth of Nick’s children born in the past year and a half, and has also welcomed twins Zillion and Zion born in June with current partner Abby de la Rosa, and daughter Powerful in December 2020 with Brittany Bell.
