At the end of the day, it’s a Spider-Man movie – you have to tell the story of Peter Parker, and everything has to be in service of that. So there were a lot of painful decisions that were made that, you know, we’d love to do this and that and “Oh, it wouldn’t be cool if these two villains could do that!” But you have to be in service of Peter’s journey, and you have to keep things moving. There were definitely a lot of what we call “little loved ones” – the little moments and the things you really love – but sometimes you have to let go.
It’s unclear whether these moments Summers is referring to were omitted from early versions of the script or were filmed and left on the cutting room floor. If it’s the latter, then that’s definitely another reason why fans are excited about the bonus features and deleted scenes that will be included with There is no place for homeDigital and Blu-Ray release in a few months. Until then, fans can enjoy the various moments that led up to the final cut.
