Paulina Porizkova says she ‘will not be shamed’ after commenter criticizes her for being ‘sexually suggestive’

Polina Porizkova responds to the commentator who criticized how she presents herself on Instagram.

The model, who has spoken out about ageism and older women being “invisible” in society, posted a screenshot of a comment from an Instagram user who wrote, “You just need constant stroking, right? There’s something wrong with that. Maybe you need therapy instead. of sexually suggestive/nude images outside in the public domain.”

Porizkova commented on the post, “I wonder if she’s posting this to all Instagramers in a bikini and revealing shots of her body? It must take up a lot of her time. Or do I dare celebrate my older body? And she won’t be shamed by societal compliance for being invisible as a woman of a certain age.” ?”

She also added the hashtag #betweenJLOandBettyWhite, referring to her previous comments she made on Yahoo Life about how women over a certain age seem to disappear until they get older.

Porizkova received a lot of praise from her followers for her response. One wrote, “Keep doing exactly what you want and what you’re doing! People need more role models that celebrate themselves exactly where they are.” Another added, “Wow, so jealous. I’m inspired by you. Please keep posting pictures of your beautiful body. You’re removing stockings from young ladies. You’re so gorgeous.”

Porizkova has used her platform to talk about these issues before – and it has even drawn in commentators who weren’t fully informed.

In November, she shared a comment from an Instagram user that said Porizkova should spend more time with her family and “stop showing off half-naked and act like a 16-year-old”. She responded the next day by sharing a nude photo of her, writing in the caption, “Yesterday’s comment by one @jamesorvin is significant only insofar as it highlights the widely held belief that women are primarily chattels. That once we stop breeding, we should retire to provide food for others.” I’m 56 and I’m living the best of my life. Having spent my life taking care of others, I was finally able to do mine.”

Porizkova, who appeared on the cover Los Angeles magazine issue of agingShe previously shared an Instagram post highlighting the ways the world is making it difficult for women to embrace getting older. In July, she posted a photo of herself smiling in a bikini and wrote, Fight Era. Reverse obsolescence. renews. Anti-aging. She wrote: “None of this is possible.” “However, if you do an internet search on aging, this is what you’ll get. Pills, potions and exercises to fight the aging process. You know what’s the only way to stop aging? Death.”

She added, “I don’t want to fight myself every day for the rest of my life. But I do want to achieve the best that has been given to me. And I want to shine a bright light in the dark corners of the shame that is upon women for daring to age.”
