REVIEW: ‘Yellowstone’ Throws Fans A Major Curveball With ‘Keep The Wolves Close’

Yellowstone was absolutely gorgeous on a Sunday night.

Warning: There will be spoilers below. Don’t keep reading if you’re not busy. Consider yourself careful.

Entering “Keep the .” Wolves Close,” I expected things to get crazy, and my expectations were met as the Duttons continued to fight for survival. (Review: ‘Yellowstone’ is stunning in the final episode of ‘I Want To Be’)

Let’s just go ahead and jump right into the biggest story of the night, and that’s the truth we may soon be calling Montana’s Governor John Dutton.

When the governor visited him to suggest Jimmy replace her, it was clear that John would never let that happen.

After all, Jimmy’s loyalties are still very unknown at this time. Is he loyal to Casey, John, and the farm as many of us would like to believe him, or is he loyal to his biological father, Garrett?

It seems to be the last, and that’s bad news for everyone involved. In order for John to protect his family and the farm, he must now follow the office to prevent his adopted son from taking it.

Of course, Beth is for it and it’s hard to be against. As Governor of Montana, John will have all the power in the world to protect the farm forever, which is exactly Beth’s point.

This was a story I hadn’t seen coming before, but here we are. Also, Jimmy standing with John and Beth was just too cruel! Perhaps that was enough to push him over the edge. The war is here.

Elsewhere, Kayce is enjoying life off the farm with Monica, and it was great to see him work with Mo to hunt down stolen cattle.

It was also great to see John invite Rip to stay at his house. Damn, it feels like things are getting close to a full turn.

Jimmy also crushes it in Texas, and gets shade on hand with some cattle! If you haven’t already watched the episode, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about once you see it.

He also seems to be starting to find a new female interest. As a fan of the show, I’m here for it. It’s time for Jimmy to move on.

Along the way, it was another great episode and the stakes have never been greater. We’re talking about Duttons running the entire state. I can’t wait to see where we go from here as the season comes to a close, but I’m excited!
