‘Spider-Man’ producer Amy Pascal says Zendaya and Tom Holland ‘ignored’ her advice to not date: ‘Don’t go there’

the Spider Man The series has taken its toll on a young internet-famous couple, with co-stars Tom Holland and Zendaya recently confirming their real-life romance. But while fans were screaming about the pairing, film producer Amy Pascal admitted that she actually warned the cast not to be dating.

In an interview with The New York Times Together with a colleague Spider-Man: There is no room for home Producer and Marvel President Kevin Feige, Pascal shared how she tried to dissuade Zendaya and Holland, who play MJ and Peter Parker in the latest trilogy, from romance. It was advice she also gave – in vain – to Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, who had a long relationship after they were cast as Spider Man Lead. (Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst also briefly dated during their stints as Peter and MJ, which worried director Sam Raimi, though he later admitted that their eventual breakup didn’t affect the onscreen chemistry in the original trilogy.)

However, Pascal, the former CEO of Sony, believes that it is better for the stars not to confuse business with pleasure.

“I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first got together and gave a lecture,” she told times. “Don’t go in there—just don’t. Try not. I gave the same advice to Andrew and Emma. It can complicate things, you know? And they all ignored me.”

While Garfield and Stone are said to have dated from 2010 to 2015 before going their separate ways, it’s unclear exactly how long Zendaya and Holland, both 25, have been a couple. The couple was photographed kissing by the paparazzi this summer, a moment Holland later spoke about in an interview with GQ.

“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy is no longer really in our control, and the moment you think it is between two people who love each other very much is now a moment shared with the whole world,” Holland said. “I’ve always been really determined to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway… We kind of felt like our privacy was being stolen.”

It seems that he and Zendaya are more comfortable going public these days, with Dune The actress recently shared her pride in “My Spider-Man” in a hipster tribute on Instagram.
