Charlene, you’ll get that car after all.
“Wheel of Fortune” fans weren’t happy when contestant Charlene missed the final round due to a timing rule – and missed her chance to drive home in a brand-new Audi Q3. But this did not last long.
“You are the winner in our eyes, Charlene,” Audi Books Wednesday on Twitter. “Now, let’s get a prize. It’s time for #GiveHerTheQ3.”
The company did a follow-up late Wednesday night, to let the world know Track Charlene (No doubt with the help of “Wheel” Sony Pictures Television producer): “There is no community like the Audi community. With your help, we tracked Charlene! More to come as we help #GiveHerTheQ3.”
On Tuesday’s episode, the final category was “What are you doing?” Having had some help with the standard ‘RSTLNE’ letters filled in – and guessing the bulk of the remaining letters to fill in the puzzle – I tried to say the incorrect answer ‘choose the correct card’. While she eventually said the correct answer, “choose the right word”, it did not seem to meet the standard “pause” length of display between guesses.

“It’s tough because you said all the right words, including the word ‘word,’ but you know, it has to be pretty continuous,” host Pat Sajak said. “We’ll allow a short pause but not four or five seconds. I’m sorry, you did a good job getting it but we can’t give you the prize and it was Audi.”
Sony did not respond to a request for comment.
This incident comes on the heels of another just this week where rapper Yong Guk’s name (“Young Guk”) was incorrectly spelled out in a directory. Fans usually interact with the series on social media, whether it’s invoking rules they don’t like or making fun of wrong answers.
We’re eagerly awaiting the next update—and so is Charlene, probably.
